Jaguar’s Archery: A Fun, Welcoming Place for Kids to Learn Something New
If you walk into The Nock Point Archery Range in Mountlake Terrace on a Jaguars Archery day, the first thing you notice is the energy. Kids are excited, parents are smiling, and there’s a warm, special feeling that everyone is part of something special. Jaguar’s Archery has genuinely become one of our favorite monthly programs, and every time we host it, we see more young faces ready to learn and have fun.
At our most recent session, around 28 joined us. Some had never picked up a bow before, and some were already getting the hang of it, but they all came ready to learn. The best part is that everything is provided, and everyone is welcome, regardless of age or experience level.
How Instruction Works at Jaguar’s Archery
This part is simple. Participants received free tutorials and equipment from The Nock Point Range in Mountlake Terrace, conducted by Michael Hoover, who was our master and a previous employee of MacCoy Homes Solutions. He instructed all the kids and participants to perform archery safely.
Some of the participants loved it so much that they are now receiving private instruction and tutorials from Michael Hoover at The Nock Point Range in Mountlake Terrace
A Place Where Every Kid Has Something to Do
One thing we always keep in mind is that families often bring multiple children, and not every kid wants to shoot arrows. That is why we set up a creative activity table at every session. It usually includes:
- Coloring and drawing
- Card games
- Quiet activities
- Occasional snacks
It has become its own little hangout spot. Kids who are not on the range can relax, draw, or play while staying part of the overall experience. Parents tell us they appreciate this so much because it makes the event easier and more enjoyable for the whole family.
Helping Kids Explore New Passions
One of the fun things about Jaguar’s Archery is seeing kids discover something new. Some try archery once for the experience, while others suddenly become interested. The fact that a few of our participants are now taking private lessons at The Nock Point demonstrates the power of exposure.
Part of our mission is making opportunities like this accessible. When a child finds an activity they enjoy, it builds confidence and helps them grow.
Why Families Keep Coming Back
Parents share many reasons why this program has become a favorite. A few we hear often are:
- It feels safe and structured.
- It is completely free.
- The kids feel welcome and comfortable right away.
- There are activities for everyone, not just archers.
Jaguar’s Archery reflects the heart of our organization. It is community-focused, accessible to all families, and centered around positive youth experiences
Please Remember to RSVP
The Nock Point is an indoor range with limited space, so we ask families to RSVP for each session. This helps us:
- Prepare enough equipment
- Keep group sizes manageable
- Set up our activity tables
- Make sure the range stays safe and organized
A quick RSVP makes everything run smoothly for both the youth and the volunteers.
Community Partnerships Make This Possible
This program is the result of several pieces coming together in the right way. Jaguar’s Archery is supported by:
- The Nock Point Archery Range, who hosts us and provides equipment
- Michael Hoover, who offers free tutorial and safe instruction
- Our volunteers, who help run the sessions smoothly
Together, we are building a space where kids can try something new, stay active, and feel connected.
